In case if you need relocate \/boot partition to another drive or partition due some reasons , then you need to<\/p>\n

1. Rename your old boot folder
\n2. Create new folder for \/boot
\n3. Mount new partition as \/boot
\n4. Modify \/etc\/fstab
\n5. Copy boot files to new location
\n6. use grub console to reconfiguring grub
\n7. Modify \/etc\/grub.conf
\n8. reboot<\/p>\n

1. Rename your old boot folder , If it\u2019s partition copy files somewhere safely.<\/p>\n

# mv \/boot \/oldboot<\/pre>\n
2. Create new folder for \/boot<\/p>\n
# mkdir \/boot<\/pre>\n
3. Mount new partition to \/boot , here sda4 is the new boot partition.<\/p>\n
# mount \/dev\/sda4 \/boot\/<\/pre>\n
4. Correct \/etc\/fstab so that it pointed to a new \/boot partition (it is usually recognized by UUID)<\/p>\n
# cat \/etc\/fstab\r\n\r\nUUID=\"a1981e71-e90a-4f12-9093-55ecbc70bd9a\" \/boot ext3 defaults 0 0<\/pre>\n
5. Copy boot files to new location<\/p>\n
# cp -avpf \/oldboot\/* \/boot\/<\/pre>\n
6. Use grub command line interface to reconfiguring grub and use any other known methords. Type \u201cgrub\u201d to access CLI console:<\/p>\n
